Collect the title, author, source URL, and license before publishing. Link to the creator and license when the format allows, and keep the credit reasonably close to the material or in a clearly connected credits area.
A reusable pattern
A compact pattern is: “Title” by Creator, source link, licensed under CC BY 4.0, with a note describing any edits. Adjust placement to the medium without hiding the information.
Respect source instructions
The licensor may supply an attribution name, URL, copyright notice, or disclaimer that should be retained when reasonable. Remove attribution information if the licensor validly requests removal under the license.
